Welcome to my new site! It’s been along time since I’ve updated anything and I figured it was about time to start scratching the artist itch I’ve been ignoring for the last 5 years.
Just wanted to give a quick little blurb on where I’ve been and why I’ve been inactive for awhile. In 2009 I experienced some pretty intimidating licensing issues that deflated my confidence in being able to survive as an artist. Not to mention experiencing a massive hard drive crash that resulted in the loss of most of my previous art files.
Rather than starting over, I chose to pursue other professional options to ensure I could keep food on the table. I ended up being far more successful at the career path I landed in than I anticipated and it has consumed a great deal of my time and effort. I also met my new husband after 7 years of being a single mom of my now 15 year old, had a baby girl that is a huge focus in my life, and am now expecting our son in June. I currently have everything I could ever want. But everyday I get up, I still have this craving to create and it is eating away at the center of who I believe I am. An artist. I miss creating beautiful things. Besides scribbling with my toddler I haven’t put pencil to paper in nearly 5 years. I figure it’s about time to revisit what I am at the core besides a mother and wife, and put myself back out there as the artist I’ve always wanted to be.
It’s going to take a lot of work and effort but this is my calling. And this is who I am. Whether I make a living at it or not, I need this in my life and I hope you will all join me on this journey to rediscovering myself in this field of creativity and thank all of you who have remained loyal fans of my work and supporters throughout the years.
Digital image painted on my Ipad in ProCreate App with the Apple Pencil. Have to say I LOVE the pencil. Most ingenious invention ever for drawing on a table ever. I highly recommend it to any using anything Apple to draw.
I currently don’t have a name for this one yet, but I still have a long ways to go on this one so maybe one will strike me as I’m finishing it up.
